![]() ![]() It’s not as exciting as it sounds but kind of cool to say you crossed over a shark tank on a rope bridge. Close out your visit by crossing the shark bridge. The highlight has to be the stingray tank where you can feed them! It’s only once a day (happened to be 11:30 for us) and you can buy little cups of fish to hold out & they’ll come suck them out of your hand ($5 totally worth it). Plenty of fun little photo opportunities built into some of the tanks where you can pop your head in & see the fish from inside the tank basically. There’s a nice directional flow through the aquarium and the exhibits are all well done. Turns out, this was the highlight of the trip for our entire group of 10! It’s not a full day like the zoo, but we spent 3ish hours and everyone from ages 2, 5, 13, mid 30s & upper 50s loved it. Not going to lie, we decided to come to the area primarily to do the Cincinnati Zoo & this was just a bonus Destin. We are from Indianapolis so we opted out of the annual pass, but if we lived closer it would have been well worth the price to get the annual pass! Overall an experience our toddler will be talking about for days I'm sure! Our favorites were the shark feeding right when you get in, the many tunnels to walk through, and the sting ray exhibit! There seemed to be only one exhibit closed for renovation right now. The museum flows through exhibits well and took us about 3 hours to go through with a snack stop at the cafeteria and a walk through the gift shop. ![]() They do have a cafeteria and several lunch options outside the museum nearby. We did an entrance time of 10am on a Friday and it was still pretty busy, if you can get away without taking a stroller I would recommend leaving it at home. Shakers, like the great white, thrash their head from side to side while their sharp teeth cut through the shark’s meal. Each type of jaws serves animals that hunt in very different ways. ![]() Visitors will learn about the four kinds – biters, shakers, crushers and grazers. There’s perhaps no more intriguing part of a shark than their powerful jaws. Watch for the new sharks circling below as you cross Shark Bridge, a rope bridge suspended over the 385,000-gallon shark tank. You may even catch a diver swimming with the sharks as they care for their habitats. Measuring up between 6 and 7 feet long, these giant animals are easily identified by their gaping mouths full of sharp teeth. ![]() This year marks the new sand tiger sharks’ first Shark Summer.
